Update for teachers in Scotland JUNE 2026
To help you decide on what package you need please note that the next deadline for forms is 23rd/30th August for those planning to return for Oct HT pay (23rd for 19/10/26, 30th for 26/10/26). If you need forms within a week of this deadline you must purchase our urgent service. Our Urgent packages guarantee a plan within a working day of payment, prioritised email replies and drafting of forms. If you are able to answer any questions promptly, we aim to finalise your forms within 48 hours (excluding weekends).
This is for one parent taking SPL (the other takes paternity and then stays at work) and includes:

Review of your shared parental leave policy.

A bespoke week by week plan of your leave detailing weekly pay estimations (gross) and SPL blocks to review and amend.

Drafting of your SPL forms (government or school-specific) and advice on submission.

Ongoing support if you have any SPL issues with your employer.
OPTION A
URGENT OPTION A/A+
This Urgent Service is for people who require a rapid turn around, either due to a deadline or for your own personal reasons.
Note you do not require this if you are approaching 8 weeks of maternity leave starting - the deadline is for when SPL will start, not maternity.
OPTION A+
As above, but for when both parents want to take leave. We will review both policies and complete paperwork for both employers.
Everything in package A (one parent taking SPL) plus a 30 minute zoom call to talk through your plan/ discuss options/ look at your paperwork.

Support With Employer
If you've applied for SPL and are now encountering difficulties with your employer misunderstanding your Shared Parental Leave (SPL) application, we can help.
We'll draft the necessary letters and guide you through resolving these issues.

Support With Self-Completed Forms
If you've drafted your Shared Parental Leave plan and forms yourself, we'll review them for accuracy against your policy and term dates.
We'll include minor corrections, but if major re-drafting is needed, we'll advise upgrading to Package A for full assistance.

TURNAROUND TIMES
Once you've purchased a package, we aim to respond within 24 hours.
Most plans are completed within two weeks of purchase, often sooner. However, as our team is a mix of working teachers and staff with flexible hours, there may be occasional delays during busy periods.
For urgent applications, please ensure you purchase our Urgent Option A or A+ and state "URGENT" in your email subject line when submitting documents. We'll be in touch with a draft of your plan within one working day, then once you've confirmed you're happy with the plan, we will draft the paperwork.
Important: The 8-week notice period for submitting SPL forms is required 8 weeks before you intend to start SPL, not 8 weeks before your maternity/adoption leave begins.

Update for Teachers working in SCOTLAND:
Different authorities in Scotland are applying the provisions in the SNCT handbook relating to shared parental pay in different ways. This should not be the case, as it isn't an area that is devolved, but fighting back on it is proving very tricky! As it stands we will reopen our services to Scottish teachers - but with the caveat that not all local authorities will allow you to cover the 13 weeks across to shared parental leave as they should do - we have worked with hundreds of families in Scotland, and have a good record of who has allowed what to date - so will give you the best advice we can. If your local authority is being tricky at the moment it doesn't mean you can't benefit at all - we will just have to go for later holidays. Private schools in Scotland are fine - and work the same as private schools in England. Due to the potential complexities any applicants from Scotland will go to Kinza only for now, so you may have a slightly longer turn around time (unless you have booked our urgent service)
